The Gold Wolds - Lincolnshire

Wolds Poetry

The Gold Wolds

Folds and folds
Of rolling Wolds
Are caped and draped

In curtains of gold
Brimming, glimmering
And shimmering -
- a sight to behold
Before being cut
And sold

Instead of carrots
Peas and sweet corn
Fields are adorned
With rapeseed spawned
Baking and taking
In the sun
Bred and spun
A new dawn of energy
Has begun

While wind turbines
Sprout about
Milling the wind
In and out
Of their turbines
Spinning
Electricity pylons
Can still be seen
For miles on
Carbon sinning
